PRTL’s interest in rights infrastructure is long-standing. The blockchain-for-music conversation of 2016–2017 raised real questions about metadata, provenance, and ownership that haven’t fully been resolved—but the discussion helped sharpen thinking about what functional music rights infrastructure actually requires.
